I have an in grown toe nail on my right foot and they have cutted it over 8 times but it keeps growing the wrong way. any sugestions on what to do?

Ingrown: Your podiatrist can professionally remove that ingrown portion of the toenail safely so that it will not grow back leaving the rest of the nail to grow naturally. Be careful that you do not continue to try to remove it yourself because that type of "bathroom surgery" can really hurt and can cause infection in that side of the toenail.

See a podiatrist: If an ingrown nail is recurrent, and cannot be relieved with simpler measures an permanent procedure can be done in office under local anesthesia to address this, the ingrown portion of nail is removed, and the exposed root that that portion grows from is treated so the corner won't grow back. It has a great track record, and you can stop suffering from pain and infection!

It may hurt, but...: There is a small piece of nail still embedded in the corner. You need to get that out. Soak to soften the area and try to get it free. If you can't get it out on your own, a podiatrist can. Sometimes this can be done without numbing the toe, but often, anesthesia is necessary. If it is a chronic condition, there is a very successful surgery that can be done to permanently correct the problem.

If: Just cut out it will always regrow. Need to have the matrix removed on that side be chemical or surgical methods. Both are easy and usually take care of problem once and for all.
