Is it true that you shouldn't use acne products containing salicylic acid during pregnancy?

I don't think so: Very big doses of salicylic acid given orally cause birth defects in animal models. So mostly because of the fear of lawsuits, physicians have to recommend against using salicylic acid during pregnancy. Benzoyl peroxide is a good alternative.
