Red tomato in stool?: If you recently ate cherry-red tomatoes (or similar-appearing food), then you may have rapid intestinal transit resulting in the food's inadequate digestion. However, be concerned since blood clots may also appear as red blobs. Bleeding in such a case can be without warning, brisk, & originate anywhere in the gut (from esophagus, stomach, to rectum. Don't hesitate to seek urgent evaluation/care.

Blood in stool: Many conditions can cause rectal bleeding, most commonly hemorrhoids. You should visit your doctor to address the situation. Make sure to note if it is painful to have a bowel movement, if you have felt weak/ fatigued lately, and when you first noticed this happening. Most likely, the doctor will want to run a few blood tests and possibly do a rectal exam. They might even recommend a colonoscopy.
