Dr. J. Roth answered

Inguinal hernia: There is no best repair for inguinal hernia. I personally recommend laparoscopic repairs for inguinal hernias due to reduced pain and quick recovery. However, many surgeons feel open repairs offer equivalent results. Most techniques have a low recurrence rate complication rate. Finding a surgeon with experience performing the repair is likely more important than the repair type.
