A member asked:

I am suffering from minor but sharp pain on the left side, sometimes the right side of my ribcage, does this mean a heart attack?

Probably not: While the symptoms of a heart attack can vary, the pain is generally described a pressure or crushing, not usually sharp and is generally not self-limited or minor. I suspect your pain is muscular or rib related due to strain, irritation or inflammation in the chest wall.

Not likely: But a full history and exam is worthwhile. Musculoskeletal is much more likely but precaution and good choices are important. No smoking regular exercise and diet.
