Should i worry that my baby's rash is spreading from her cheek downward to her arms and legs?

No: Rashes are fun - and the vast majority of rashes in newborns are not worrisome. A rash would be infectiously spreading if it moved between contiguous areas - and the legs don't come into contact with the (facial)cheeks. While there are viral infections that can cause what you're describing, you best answer will come from a medical provider who can see your baby's rash: time to make an appointment.

No: A rash that starts on the face and looks like sunburn and then spreads downward might be fifth's disease. This is not a newborn rash.Rashes are very hard to diagnose on the phone and need to be seen for proper identification. Also take a picture...In this digital age it can make a big difference as some rashes disappear by the time you get to the doctor..
