Always ask OB expert: Many women with low-risk pregnancies successfully work out during pregnancy. But all should discuss this with their OB doctors at the first visit. Conditions change throughout pregnancy. Therefore, women should ask the OB at visits what is ok. Women with risk of pregnancy complications, history of preterm birth, etc. Should consult with OB and maternal-fetal medicine about what activity is safe.
