Unlikely an issue: Cold sores are localized outbreaks of a germ that goes dormant only to resurface periodically. It differs from germs that circulate in your blood like measles, chickenpox or other infections known to harm a fetus.Since the germ doesn't circulate, it can't cross the placenta & get to baby.
