Best to leave intact: Melissa officinalis or lemon balm (cream) expedites healing of cold sores. It can reduce healing time by half. Studies also show that regular use can help v recurrences. Brief supplementation with lysine 1, 000mg orally three times a day at the onset, can also hasten healing. Your physician can prescribe oral valtrex (valacyclovir).

3 things: The herpetic lesion lasts7-14 days no matter what.
If it is unsightly you can get special little band aids to cover.
You can use an rx antiviral creme to lessen time and severity.
Lastly. Otc cremes can be used which are mostly palliative.

Cold sores: May extrude a yellow fluid after the blister breaks open. I am not sure what you mean by a spot.
