Cold sores: What you describe is not just the cold sore causing other oral problems but a possible systemic infection sometimes strep throat can result in all these symptoms so please see your doctor to resolve the problem.

IT could: It could be a viral infection which, in addition to causing sores, could cause viral gum infection.
