A member asked:

Since herpes is dorment how soon would i be able to be tested if the condom broke during?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

6 weeks: I would give it 6 weeks post exposure to take a blood test to see if you've been exposed to the virus. If you had a lesion, you can be tested right away, but from your question, it seems you want to know how long it takes for your body to make antibodies to determine if you've been exposed. You can take a test now, to see if you've been exposed prior to that incident and then again in 6 weeks.
