A member asked:

How come i (and probably some other women) get pregnant faster when they take birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stimulation: Sex responses are more rapid in individuals who have had a prolonged period of abstinence due to suppression. And the ovaries are being suppressed by the oral contraceptive and when that is stopped, the pituitary now starts to rapidly stimulate egg production. It doesn't necessarily work to get pregnant for all individuals, but anecdotally it works often enough to 'stimulate' this conversation.
