Depends: Irregular and missed periods happen due to irregular or missed ovulations. By definition you have mild ovulatory dysfunction, the most frequent female fertility problem (30%.) using a home OPK may help you pin down ovulation. If 49 years is your correct age, then peri-menopause would be a consideration too.
