Backwards issue: You don't get shingles unless you had chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccine in the past. Shingles is evidence that the immunity you developed to chickenpox was weakening & the germ came out of it's hiding place in your body in the form of a shingles eruption. That new infection will bolster your chickenpox immunity.
