Depends-no set time: How injury affects a person is dependent on the person. Some people never have noticeable symptoms until it perforates. Some have pain, nausea, vomiting, black stools, etc. Basic way to treat ulcer is with meds called ppis ...Etc. This keeps the acid down and allows ulcer time to heal. Avoiding things that make ulcer worse also helps-like alcohol, nsaids or Aspirin or steroids or smoking etc.
