How can herpes cause micro syphilis in newborns?

Never heard of it: Herpes and syphilis are 2 separate germs that can be passes to a fetus during pregnancy. One is a virus and one is a bacteria. They could be passed at the same time by the same person while infecting mother & baby.I have never heard of "micro syphilis".
