Blepharits: Most common reason people see eye doctors for red lids is blepharitits (inflammation of lids ). There is1 gland per eye-lash that secrets oil. Openings get closed and oil is inspissated & becomes stale & an irritant. Daily 10 minute hot moist packs followed by 30 second shampoo scrubbing of your eye lashes removes the excess oil (eyes closed). Eye doctor can rx meds.
