Beyond the normal ra: Any fasting blood sugar beyond the normal range, which typically runs between 60-90mg/dl. A fasting sugar level above 100mg/dl is high. Blood sugar should be tested after an overnight fast. A blood sugar level above 125mg is the current definition of diabetes.
