What is post partum depression all about? i've heard women get this after there pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Post Partum: Post partum depression has an onset within 4 weeks after childbirth. The symptoms are more severe than the "baby blues" and can last for months. One can feel sad, hopeless, lack of joy, tired, irritable, change in appetite/sleep, difficulty bonding with the baby, thoughts of wanting to hurt yourself or the baby, isolating from family/friends. If left untreated it can last for many months longer.
