Ruptured appendix: Appendicitis when diagnosed and surgically treated carries a low risk for organ failure and serious health issues. However, ruptured appendicitis is more serious. The appendix is connected to the right colon so appendix rupture can be like perforated colon. Fecal peritonitis can lead to organ failure, sepsis and the risk for more serious health disruption. Best to seek health care early.
