Is angioplasty coronary or congenital?

Coronary: What you describe is called coronary stent angioplasty. This is almost always done for coronary artery disease from atherosclerosis. Very rarely is this congenital, but early atherosclerosis can be related to family or genetics.

Not congenital: This was probably a result of cholesterol build up from diet. There could be some genetics involved in that if your parents had early onset coronary artery disease you would be at increased risk. Your cardiologist can help you with long term plans.
