I am told that my patellar is not tracking correctly. my dr. advised a j-brace, but it is incredibly painful. is that normal, will the pain subside?

Not normal: If the brace is truly helping your tracking, it should be less painful, not more. You need to be re evaluated to see if the brace is being worn correctly, or if another type of treatment will be necessary.
