A member asked:

Do periods get lighter after a few months when you take the pill?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They are supposed to: Yes! that is one of the non-contraceptive benefits of birth control pills. They causes menes to become lighter, less painful and very predictable, regular. If the pill isn't doing that, you may do better with a different pill formulation.
