Both are disorders: Both may also be considered diseases. "disorder" is the more contemporary term for these conditions. The term "disease" was more common in earlier eras. For example, in 1874, the journal of nervous and mental disease was first published. While this journal is highly respected, such a title would not be selected for a new journal today.
