See below: Tb is considered moderately contagious. The chance of contracting TB depends on the closeness of the contact with the person who has pulmonary tuberculosis and the infectivity of that person. Persons with cavitary TB are most contagious followed by persons with positive sputum TB smears. Immunosuppressed persons are more susceptible to infection. Tb is rare in usa and public health is good.

It is AIR BORNE: iTuberculosis is airborn through inhalation of TB germ.In countries where more people are infected with TB,that is how it is spread But in USA there are not that many cases.You see more in patients with AIDS and some in immigrand popupation.And we screen with PPD from child hood and in school entrance.And disease is kept under control with good Health Department follow up
