It's like a cold: Every case varies. Most cases of conjunctivitis are caused by the same class of viruses that cause the common cold. Some cases will clear in a couple of days. Others will hang on for 2-3 weeks. Occasionally, the eyes will take 6 weeks to feel completely normal.
