A member asked:

Can you please list the risks associated with being a radiation therapist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Same as any Med Job: Radiation therapists interact closely with patients undergoing radiation therapy. Patients often form a strong bond with them. Therapists have the same exposures to infectious/bloodborne pathogens that any healthcare worker have. We monitor radiation exposure, however there is no direct exposure to radiation since there is heavy shielding around the vault.
