Tips: To treat bug bites consider applying calamine lotion. Apply crushed ice or a cold pack. A 1 to 1 mix of water and baking soda is effective when applied to the lesions. You can take oral medications like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or chlorpheniramine.

Antihistamines and..: Antihistamine pills such as Allegra (fexofenadine), zyrtec (ceterizine) and Claritin (loratadine) help to reduce the itch. Don't put Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream on your skin. If you use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) take it in pill form. Steroid creams like Hydrocortisone are also helpdul to reduce the swelling and inflammation.
