Physical exam: During most teen physicals the doctor will interview the patient both in the presence of the parent and without the parent to screen for things like depression, sleep disorders, school problems, drug use, sexual activity, etc. The doctor will examine the teen checking all body parts, assessing for scoliosis, hernias (boys), fitness, irregular heart beats. We want to check that all is well.
