A member asked:

How can donating bone marrow work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Register as a Donor: You can register in any blood bank by asking about the national marrow donor program(nmdp) also called: be the match registry. It is simple to register as a potential donor by giving a sample of body cells, usually taken from inside of your cheek. Once they find your body cells match someone in need they will call you to donate your blood stem cells or marrow stem cells.
