Epinephrine: Some of the anesthetics contain epinephrine, which can make your heart race and make you feel light headed. Discuss this with your dentist and ask for an anesthetic without epinephrine, like carbocaine.

3 reasons: 1. Epinephrine in some anesthetics can cuse this type of reaction 2. Allergy to one of the ingredients in the "shot" 3. Sitting up too quickly after laying down for awhile.
