Variable: The velocity of blood through the heart is different at different locations. Velocity is affected by numerous conditions such as underlying heart function, dehydrated state, anemia, and narrowing of the heart valves. To provide some values for more commonly measures: the velocity across the aortic valve will typically be less than 1.5-1.7 m/s and across the pulmonic valve less than 1-1.2m/s.
