Can you please explain "shock" when it comes to injury?

Depends: There are different types of shock. A bad injury can cause psychological shock or cardiogenic shock. Psychological shock is more a state of mind without necessarily physical injury. Cardiogenic shock refers specifically to low blood pressure which can happen with a serious injury and there is lots of blood loss.
