A member asked:

Is it true that it's really necessary not to wear a tampon until 2 weeks after an abortion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

THAT IS ADVICED: It is recommended not to wear tampons for two weeks after abortion as cervix is open and there is risk of uterine infection and toxic shock syndrome but there have been no studies to document that it causes those complications. It is just a precaution.
