Burn: 1st degree burn is just red & warm skin without blister: ice it. 2nd degree burn is as above with a blister: see doctor- silvedine ointment helps a lot. 3rd degree is a deeper burn beyond the skin (into fatty tissue): see a doctor.

Depends on Severity: A first degree burn (without blistering) can be treated with cool compresses, aloe vera, vitamin c, e, and sometimes steroid creams. Second degree burns (with blistering) may require antibiotics, and you should visit your physician. If you have a severe third degree burn (takes the skin off) you should not apply cold water or ice. Get to an emergency room!
