Fire Ant Bites: Wash the area gently with soap and water to rid the skin of any venom on it. Disinfect bite with alcohol place cool cloth or ice cloth on sites for 15 minutes try dabbing the site with one of the following: diluted (1:1) bleach solution, kleen ‘em away naturally, calamine lotion, enzyme cleaner or meat tenderizer. Agree w Dr. Kopes: Kerr. Fire ants don't bite. Pinchers grip skin while stinging injects solenopsin - an alkaloid venom. A fire ant is the gift that keeps on giving – as 1 ant can repeatedly sting you in different locations. Apply a 1 to 1 mix of baking soda & water to decrease pain & reaction. Or try paste of water & meat tenderizer, Benadryl for itching or tylenol (acetaminophen) or nsaid's for pain. Call 911 for allergic rxn.
