Duration : Symptoms of concussion are often momentary with brief confusion. When there is any loss of consciousness a person should be seen in the emergency room. For milder symptoms including headache, tiredness or difficulty with balance, symptoms usually clear within 24 yours. However, symptoms may continue for hours to as long as a year. In rare cases symptoms continue permanently.
