What can you do to tell if you have bursitis or rotator cup issue?

Have it examined: A simple exam by a doctor should tell you. See one if the pain persists.

Rotator cuff: Rotator cuff disease is sometimes difficult to diagnose on exam. Some of the key features are age of onset and awakening you from sleep. Rotator cuff tears frequently occur in middle-aged individuals and awaken you from sleep. Mri confirms the suspicion. Being 42, you are a bit young for a full-thickness tear unless you experienced trauma.
