A member asked:

Can you please discuss the long-term complications for a person that was given barbituates as a child?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Barbiturates: There should not be complications from barbiturate use as a child. Problems are known while taking them, including behavior change, sedation and slowing of learning. Any long term complication is more likely related to the underlying reason why barbiturates were used..
