Knot in lip: Is the knot hard or soft? If it is soft it may take a little more time. If it is hard it may be a bit of scar tissue (fibroma) and may need to be removed. The procedure is simple, takes half an hour or less and may require one suture. See your dentist or oral surgeon for a consultation.

It will get smaller: At the swelling goes down it will get smaller. Depending on the severity of the cut you might have some fibrous or scar tissue there for many years.
