Probably normal: Menstrual irregularity occurs in 15% of women in any given cycle. There may have been a problem with ovulation and the hormone changes "confuse" the uterus leading more bleeding or less bleeding. If this is an isolated cycle, it should resolve and go back to regular within 1-2 months.
