Only in hindsight: You ovulate about two weeks before your period and you are fertile for about 6 days before that. If your periods are irregular you really cannot predict ovulation (and therefore your fertile period) ahead of time.

Patiently : You might try using BBT charting to start - cheap and easy but tedious. If your cycles are 35-40 days then this might be helpful. If your cycles are more than 40 days the. This might not work. Once you have an idea of if and when you ovulate then OPK testing might help provide advance warning of ovulation. Beyond this see your doc who can ask more questions. Best wishes.
