Ankle sprain: Most likely you have a recurrent ankle sprain. Ankle sprains are graded 1, 2 or three. In your case the most likely grade of sprain is a grade one or the least severe. Some simple treatments for this are ice, elevation and compression to the ankle. I would also recommend taking an NSAID to help. If the pain continues i would recommend seeing a foot and ankle specialist for ankles and a possible mri.

Get examined/xray: Good chance you at least sprained (tore a ligament) in your ankle . Possibility that you avulsed a piece of bone where the ligaments in your ankle are attached. Since you are unable to walk on it oit requires a visit to the er or doctor office sooner than later.
