No: Ovulation does not occur soon after menses. The problem is that women with pcos can have bleeding that is not infact menstrual bleeding, but rather is abnormal bleeding that is out of sync with the normal cycle. I recommend you see your gyn as despite metformin treatment your cycles are still irregular. Treatments can include clomid, (clomiphene) ovarian drilling, increasing metformin dosage, excercise, etc.
