Risk 4 mom vs. fetus: There would be no additional risk to the mother, but Remeron (mirtazapine) is pregnancy category c (for fetal risk). One human study a few years ago showed that mothers taking Remeron (mirtazapine) in pregnancy had no increase in fetal malformation rate, but there was higher risk of spontaneous abortions like with other antidepressants: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmed/16965209.

Always: Any doctor would be foolish to say otherwise- too many attorneys better equipped with statistics then most doctors! the ricks are relative to the medication and is a risk vs benefit ratio that only you and your doctors may determine - not a web page.
