Klonopin, Xanax (alprazolam): Both are high-potency benzodiazepines, but are different molecules (different drugs). Each can be temporarily helpful in anxiety. Because both can induce physical and psychological dependency, it's best to limit the extent of use and focus on non-habit forming antianxiety medications and treatments instead.

Benzodiazepines: They are essentially the same kind of drug, and do the same thing: they are sedatives and for calming down anxiety. They are very addictive and should only be used once in a great while.
