Opiate Withdrawal: Muscles feel like they are burning because you are in withdrawal from stopping opiates that your were taking. The body makes natural occuring opiates called endorphins. These endorphins have become diminished because the ones you were taking from outside sources have overwhelmed your natural system. Naturally occuring endorphins take to time to come back and take the place of the exogenous ones.
