Normal variation.: Your heart only pumps as much as is necessary to meet physiologic demand ( part of which is driven by your brain). If demand is high and you have plenty of fluid in your system your pulse may be felt strongly. If demand is low and your tank is empty your pulse may be faint and rapid.
