You can: You have just extended your pill cycle, similar to what women do when a special weekend or trip is coming up and they do not want to menstruate. Menstrual periods on birth control pills are drug induced from withdrawal of the hormones in the pill and generally are not necessary. That is the basis for the three month cycle pills or Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) where women theoretically have only 4 periods per year.
