Child9years of age started period normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is early: Sadly, girls are going through puberty and starting their periods earlier and earlier. In general, it is still considered abnormal for girls to have breast development and pubic hair growth before age 7, and to have periods start before age 10. That said, because the trend is younger and younger, periods at age 9 might be "normal" in this instance. See the doc for an evaluation.
